STEPS TO HELPING A FARMER SUICIDE FAMILY
We are rebuilding soil of one farmer family at a time with support of Director of Agriculture, Tumkur & KVK, Hirehalli, Tumkur.
1. GIVING THEM A VOICE: While it is difficult to fathom the stress that would have led a farmer to commit suicide, hearing out from the family not only acquaints us with their reality, it also gives them hope that they are wanted.
2. REJUVENATING THEIR SOIL: We commit to making the dead soil of this family to 5-elements soil and offer them an orchard, farm or grassland as they prefer by hand holding and being with them over a period of 1 year & monthly visits.
3. WORKING TOGETHER: Urban dwellers can connect with their rural counterparts - not just monetarily but also physically on site.
SWMRT (Solid Waste Management Round Table, Bangalore) also helps us take excess city compost to these families and bring nutrient-dense produce to the city.
